India-Luxembourg Relations Move Beyond Diplomacy Towards Space, Tech and Business

Boosting Trade and Commercial Ties
The visit kicked off in New Delhi with talks aimed at strengthening the economic foundation between the two countries. Deputy Prime Minister Bettel sat down with India’s Foreign Minister (External Affairs Minister), Dr S. Jaishankar, as well as India's Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal.
The leaders covered a lot of ground. They discussed financial services, clean technology, and the much-anticipated India-European Union Free Trade Agreement. Chennai Becomes a Key Hub for Satellite Tech

On September 08, 2026, the officials stopped in Chennai to inaugurate the new office of SES, a Luxembourg-headquartered global satellite operator, located at the DLF Cyber City tech campus.
Following its merger with Intelsat, SES has expanded its presence in India incredibly fast. The company has tripled its local workforce to over 600 employees.

Building Space Partnerships in Bengaluru
The focus on aerospace technology wrapped up on September 09, 2026, when Minister Lex Delles headed to Bangalore for the ninth edition of the Bengaluru Space Expo (BSX).
