The Embassy of India in Warsaw hosted an important business seminar at the Polish Chamber of Commerce (KIG) on 9 April, bringing together Indian and Polish companies for sector-focused discussions. The event formed part of the visit to Poland by Shrimant Sambhaji Chhatrapatì, scion of the Royal Family of Kolhapur, who led a 20-member business delegation of prominent Indian companies.
According to the official post by @IndiainPoland on X and Facebook, the seminar created a platform for direct interaction between visiting Indian business representatives and Polish counterparts. The Embassy said the session was intended to support trade, investment and partnership-building between the two countries.
Mr Mohan Lal, Economic Counsellor at the Embassy of India in Warsaw, delivered the opening address at the seminar. He briefed participants on the current state of economic ties between India and Poland and highlighted the growing interest in deeper commercial engagement. The seminar was followed by an interactive session, allowing Indian and Polish companies to exchange views on opportunities and practical aspects of doing business in each other’s markets.
Platform for Indian and Polish Companies
The meeting at the Polish Chamber of Commerce was designed as a practical business forum, with an emphasis on direct conversation between companies. Such exchanges are increasingly important for firms looking to understand market conditions, identify partners and explore areas of cooperation.
The Embassy underlined that platforms of this kind help strengthen economic linkages and build confidence among businesses on both sides. For Indian companies visiting Poland, the seminar offered an opportunity to engage with local industry representatives and learn more about the Polish market. For Polish companies, it opened a channel to connect with Indian businesses represented in the delegation.

The Kolhapur connection continues to strengthen ties between India and Poland—blending legacy, business, and future opportunities.
Business Visit with Historic Context
The visit of Shrimant Sambhaji Chhatrapatì also carried a broader historical context. His royal lineage is linked to Kolhapur, whose family opened its doors during the Second World War to Polish women and children displaced by the conflict. This shared history continues to be remembered as an important part of India–Poland relations.
While the main purpose of the visit was business outreach, the seminar and related meetings also reflected the way historical goodwill and present-day economic cooperation can reinforce each other. The Embassy’s programme in Warsaw brought these two dimensions together in a single visit.
Strengthening India–Poland Commercial Ties
The visit and the seminar together point to steady efforts to expand India–Poland economic engagement. With Indian and Polish companies meeting in a formal business setting, the Embassy helped create a space for practical discussion on trade and investment.
The event also showed how business diplomacy can support wider bilateral ties. By combining commercial outreach with historical remembrance, the programme in Warsaw highlighted a relationship that is continuing to develop through both economic cooperation and shared memory.
