India and France have reaffirmed their commitment to their strategic partnership through the 38th India-France Strategic Dialogue, co-chaired on January 13, 2026, by Shri Ajit Doval, National Security Adviser to India's Prime Minister, and H.E. Emmanuel Bonne, Diplomatic Adviser to the President of France. The dialogue, held in New Delhi, underscored the comprehensive nature of bilateral engagement and provided a platform to strengthen cooperation across multiple domains.

The Strategic Dialogue encompassed discussions on ongoing bilateral initiatives spanning security, defence, technology, space, and civil nuclear cooperation. Both nations explored opportunities for joint development and collaboration aligned with India's Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, demonstrating a shared commitment to fostering mutually beneficial partnerships that support domestic economic growth while advancing shared strategic interests.

Beyond bilateral matters, the two countries engaged in substantive discussions on the evolving geopolitical situation and regional and international issues of common concern. During his visit to New Delhi, Emmanuel Bonne held meetings with India's External Affairs Minister and paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, facilitating high-level engagement between the two governments. The dialogue also included review of preparations for the forthcoming visit to India by H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of France.

Both India and France emphasized the importance of closer cooperation to address challenges in the global security environment, with the overarching aim of advancing peace and stability. This joint commitment reflects the strategic alignment between the two nations and their collective responsibility in contributing to international peace and security architectures.
