Latvia to Screen 'Soviet Milk' at 18th Global Film Festival Noida

H.E. Ambassador of Latvia to India, Mr Juris Bone, will participate in the opening of the 18th Global Film Festival Noida on Thursday, 11 December 2025, underscoring Latvia’s growing cultural and diplomatic engagement with India.
Festival opening in Noida
The 18th Global Film Festival Noida is being held at Marwah Studios, Film City, one of India’s most prominent media and entertainment hubs in Noida. The festival’s latest edition continues its tradition of bringing together filmmakers, artists and media professionals from India and across the world for screenings, workshops and cultural programmes.
Ambassador’s participation and screening
As part of the opening day programme, a special screening of the Latvian feature film “Soviet Milk”, directed by Ināra Kolmane, at Marwah Studios. The screening, scheduled for 11:00 am on 11 December, is organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia to India and marks Latvia’s strong presence at this year’s festival.
Focus on Latvia’s UNSC tenure and EU–India ties
The event is dedicated to Latvia’s upcoming tenure as a non‑permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, highlighting the country’s commitment to multilateralism and rules‑based international order. By presenting a critically acclaimed Latvian film based on Nora Ikstena’s novel “Soviet Milk”, the Embassy aims to promote deeper cultural understanding and stimulate dialogue on history, identity and resilience between Indian and European audiences.
